
In Bengaluru's Electronic City, BITS Pilani has established its Smart Manufacturing Competency Center (SMCC), as part of its Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILP).
Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Group Vice-Chancellor, BITS Pilani; Mr. Seshnath B., MD and CEO of Walvoil India and Mr. G. Sundar, Director of BITS Pilani (WILP Division) inaugurated the Centre, in the presence of various dignitaries.
The Centre has state-of-the-art facilities in Mechatronics, Machine vision, Industry 4.0/5.0 systems, Industrial robotics, Augmented/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) and fast prototyping. This is BITS Pilani WILP's second Competency Centre.
In February of this year, an Automotive Competency Center (ACC) opened in Chennai and within the next three months, another center of a similar nature is scheduled to open in Pune.
Every year, WILP, a unique programme, provides opportunities to more than 50,000 working professionals to further their education in a variety of management and technology fields, allowing them to continue their education without disrupting their working life. Further, Masters and Phd programs in engineering, technology, management and related fields are also offered.
BITS stands for Birla Instituite of Technology and Sciences and is India’s most reputed private technology University.
